By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor

Kentucky freshman Sydney McLaughlin ran the fourth-fastest 400-meter hurdles in collegiate history Friday as she made her season debut in her signature event at the National Relay Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.

McLaughlin lowered her own personal best to 53.60, which also impoved her World U-20 record.

The highly decorated prep star and 2016 Olympian continued her sparkling freshman season at Kentucky, where she has already run 50.07 for 400 meters, 22.39 for 200 meters and 11.07w in the 100.
