Keaton Daniel, a sophomore at Kentucky, cleared 18-6.50 (5.65m) on his first attempt in the men's pole vault final to take third at the NCAA Division 1 Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Daniel took one attempt at 18-8.25 (5.70m) and then missed his final two opportunities at 18-10.25 (5.75m). He finished second last year with an 18-2.50 (5.55m) clearance.
